Debt Collector – Booker Group

We are looking for a Debt Collector to join our Finance team based in Deeside.
In this role, you will be responsible for proactively managing and recovering outstanding customer debt referred to Head Office, working with customers to agree repayment arrangements and helping to ensure debts are resolved effectively and efficiently.
Youll also work closely with colleagues across the business, as well as external customers and organisations, making this a varied role where strong communication, organisation and customer service skills are key.
Proactively chasing outstanding debt using telephone, email, letters and text.
Negotiating appropriate repayment plans with customers.
Processing customer payments through the online payment system.
Managing customer and branch queries and providing a high level of customer service.
Making decisions on when cases should be referred for legal action and liaising with the Legal team as required.
Completing daily diary calls and effectively managing your workload.
Preparing period-end reports, reconciliations and bad debt information within required timescales.
Reconciling Bad Debt General Ledger accounts at period end.
Supporting the wider Debt Collection team, including providing holiday and sickness cover where required.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across Finance and Operations to help reduce ageing debt and minimise legal costs.
Previous experience working within Collections.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Strong organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise your workload and meet deadlines.
The ability to work under pressure and use your own initiative.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Knowledge of SAP would be advantageous.
Knowledge of legal debt recovery procedures would be beneficial, but is not essential.
