Overview

In this senior role you will lead geotechnical projects from investigation through design and construction within a leading multidisciplinary consultancy. You will collaborate with clients, contractors and design teams while guiding junior engineers and contributing to tender and proposal work. The position offers clear progression within a strong technical team, with varied project exposure and ongoing professional development. You will shape geotechnical solutions across foundations, basements, slopes and earthworks in the UK context.

Responsibilities

  • Manage geotechnical projects from investigation through to design and construction
  • Undertake geotechnical design for foundations, retaining walls, basements, slopes and earthworks
  • Review ground investigation information and produce technical reports
  • Complete geotechnical calculations and analysis
  • Work closely with clients, contractors and other design disciplines
  • Provide technical support to junior engineers
  • Attend site visits and provide technical input during construction
  • Support tenders, proposals and client meetings

Key requirements

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology or a related subject
  • Strong experience within geotechnical consultancy
  • Previous geotechnical design experience
  • Good understanding of UK ground conditions and relevant standards
  • Experience with PLAXIS, WALLAP or similar software would be beneficial
  • Chartered or working towards chartership is desirable
  • Good communication skills and the ability to manage projects independently
