Design Engineer Newtown 28700 £28,000 – £45,000 We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for a Design Engineer to join their team in Newtown.
This is an excellent opportunity for either a Graduate Engineer looking to develop their career or an experienced Design Engineer seeking a varied role with involvement across the full product development lifecycle.
Shift: 38-hour week, Flexitime Salary & Benefits: Salary of £28,000 – £45,000 Flexitime working Healthcare Scheme Company Sick Pay after 2 years’ service Supportive and collaborative working environment Roles & Responsibilities: Design and develop new products and improve existing designs Produce 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation Manage projects from concept through to manufacture Work closely with Production to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) Support tooling, jig and fixture design where required Resolve technical and manufacturing issues and contribute to continuous improvement activities Knowledge, Skills & Experience: HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline Experience using 3D CAD software, with SolidWorks experience desirable Good understanding of engineering design principles and design for manufacture Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes Ability to produce accurate engineering drawings and technical documentation Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Production and other departments Suitable for both graduate-level candidates and experienced Design Engineers
