Development Director/Senior Development Manager

Overview

Confidential search for a Development Director or Senior Development Manager to lead cross-sector development projects from post-acquisition through practical completion. You will oversee full project lifecycles across multiple sectors, excluding residential, with a preference for a BS/QS or PM background transitioning into development. The role concentrates on smaller, high-volume schemes, currently with a focus on self-storage, including schemes in planning, enabling works, and sites at varying stages of bidding. You will manage project delivery and coordinate with stakeholders, shortlisting candidates independently as directed.

Responsibilities

• oversee full project lifecycle from post-acquisition to practical completion
• manage multi-sector development schemes with emphasis on non-residential projects
• coordinate enabling works and planning stages for schemes
• handle sites at varying development stages (planning, enabling works, bidding)
• lead cross-functional collaboration with external consultants and internal teams
• prioritize volume, smaller-scale schemes over large-scale developments
• shortlist and assess candidate inputs and drive project delivery decisions

Key requirements

• full lifecycle development experience across multiple sectors
• sector-agnostic approach; no residential DMs
• BS/QS or PM background with progression into development
• experience with self-storage or willingness to focus on it
