Overview
In this role you will manage and enhance a firewall estate across on‑premise, virtual, and cloud environments as part of a large infrastructure transition. You will work within a security-focused programme, delivering BAU support and project changes while aligning with security standards and change management. Collaboration with infrastructure, security, and project teams will be central to advancing network safety and operational resilience. You’ll drive documentation, upgrades, and optimization to reduce risk and improve efficiency. This is a hands‑on, impact‑oriented position for a Check Point expert who can accelerate a critical security initiative.
Responsibilities
- Produce and maintain firewall policies, rule sets, standards, and procedures
- Provide hands-on support for the firewall estate, resolving incidents and handling service requests
- Deliver firewall-related project work and changes per security standards and change management
- Manage, configure, and maintain physical, virtual, and cloud-based Check Point platforms
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and project teams on network and security initiatives
- Identify and implement service improvements to boost security, resilience, and efficiency
- Plan and execute firewall upgrades with minimal service disruption
Key requirements
- Proven experience as a Firewall Engineer in a complex enterprise environment
- Hands-on experience with Check Point firewalls: policy design, implementation, and support
- Experience with physical, virtual, and cloud-hosted firewall platforms
- Track record of delivering both BAU and project-based firewall changes
- Strong technical documentation skills for capturing existing environments
- Solid understanding of network security principles, firewall architectures, and secure design
