Beam County Primary School in Dagenham, judged Outstanding by Ofsted in four areas in July 2025, is looking for a Business and HR Manager. Human resources is central to this post. You will lead recruitment from advertisement to pre-employment checks, keep the Single Central Record complete and accurate, manage payroll liaison, absence and staff records, and support the Headteacher in formal HR processes in line with the ACAS Code of Practice. This work keeps our workforce safe and our practice lawful and fair.
You will also run the school’s purchase-to-pay cycle, ensuring transactions are processed accurately with the correct cost codes, and you will quality-assure the team’s work within our financial controls. You will lead procurement and manage the school’s contract register so that every contract shows value for money, and you will oversee our in-house catering and premises services. Line managing the caretaker, you will retain overall responsibility for lettings and contractors. In collaboration with the caretaker, you will ensure the compliance calendar and risk register remain current, providing termly health and safety assurance reports to the Headteacher and governing board.
