Quantity Surveyor

Overview

In this role you will support the Solar commercial team and Power & Grid business unit, driving cost control and commercial governance across allocated solar projects. You will work closely with the Commercial Manager to manage budgets, forecasting, and contract administration while liaising with subcontractors and clients. The position blends site visits and meetings with mentoring junior staff, contributing to a high‑performing, growth‑oriented solar developer. This is an opportunity to shape commercial delivery within a leading specialist Solar PV company.

Responsibilities

• Collate monthly cost data to support CVRs
• Manage budget control and forecasting for allocated projects with monthly updates
• Ensure contract administration aligns with contract requirements
• Oversee cash management and cash flow production
• Prepare forecasting documentation
• Manage subcontractor accounts including measurement, variations, liability trackers, payment notices, and final accounts
• Attend progress meetings and contribute to weekly commercial meetings
• Conduct site visits and support client meetings with the Commercial Manager
• Mentor junior staff and ensure governance and internal processes are followed

Key requirements

• Minimum 2:2 degree in Quantity Surveying
• 3+ years’ experience at Quantity Surveyor level
• Excellent understanding of Contract Law, NEC suite experience preferred
• Strong commercial acumen and financial awareness
• Willingness to undertake site visits
• Full UK driving licence
