- Reports to: Payroll Manager
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Payroll Administrator to manage and oversee payroll processes for our organisation
- The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in payroll administration, strong knowledge of payroll legislation, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with relevant laws, and supporting payroll-related inquiries
- Responsibility for ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time in line with agreed deadlines
- To process UK payroll runs from beginning to end in accordance with current legislation, policies and processes, and timelines, while ensuring that an appropriately authorised person approves all payroll transactions
- Collate change data, completing input sheets, and making sure peer checks are carried out
- Ensure that all payroll-related information, including increases and deductions are calculated, recorded and processed accurately and promptly in accordance with the relevant legislation/guidelines
- Ensure that payroll reports are created and distributed to the business and third parties as necessary
- Ensure all key controls are adhered to as specified in the Payroll Process Guide, and ensure all supporting payroll documentation is correctly filed at close of each payroll run
- Report errors to the Payroll Manager and correct promptly
- Be first point of contact for all employee pay and benefit queries and investigate, resolve or elevate the matters as required in a timely manner
- Maintain confidentiality and make sure sensitive files are protected appropriately
- Make ad-hoc payroll payments as required,
- Respond professionally to queries from HR Business Partners and staff at all levels, communicating clearly and effectively, and providing high-quality advice on payroll-related matters
- Inform others of the payroll cut-off dates and ensure payroll deadlines are met
- Maintain up to date knowledge of Payroll legislation and internal policies
- Prepare and submit PAYE, NI, and other statutory deductions, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations
- Support the Payroll Manager with regular audit checks and collating data for any internal or external check
