Overview
As Service Manager for the Guildford Neighbourhood Mental Health team, you will lead an integrated community mental health service for adults. You will drive safe, effective, and person-centred care, working with primary, social care and VCSE partners. You’ll shape the neighbourhood model, support staff development, and ensure quality improvement and performance. This role offers impact across local communities and a collaborative, recovery‑focused culture.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership to the multidisciplinary team and ensure high-quality service delivery for adults 18+
- Develop and maintain systems aligned with national standards, CQC guidelines, and local policies
- Collaborate across organisational boundaries to ensure service alignment and integration
- Develop and implement strategies promoting involvement and recovery
- Coordinate roles and resources within the service and manage staff
- Supervise and develop mental health professionals and VCSE staff in partnership with VCSE leads
- Establish structures for clinical and management supervision
- Foster a collaborative work environment and ensure adherence to high care standards
Key requirements
- Leadership/management qualification or relevant training/experience
- Diploma/Degree level professional qualification (RMN, HCPC, SWE) and current UK professional registration
- Significant management experience in health or social care and extensive adult mental health experience
- Experience co-designing improvements with lived experience and carer representatives
- Budget management and staff management experience
- Performance setting and monitoring experience
- Competent in MS Office
- Disclosure and Barring Service check and UK registration requirements
