Overview

You will service, maintain and repair HVAC and commercial refrigeration systems for blue-chip clients across hospitality, retail, and commercial sectors. The role is field-based and involves diagnosing faults, delivering first-time fixes where possible, and building strong on-site client relationships. You will operate in a safety-conscious, on-call environment with opportunities for training and progression within Johnson Controls. This role combines hands-on technical work with client-facing responsibilities to ensure reliable, efficient equipment operation.

Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment
  • Fault find on systems including AHUs, chillers, cold rooms, display cabinets and ice machines
  • Carry out planned maintenance and reactive repairs
  • Deliver first-time fixes where possible
  • Complete accurate service reports and documentation
  • Build strong relationships with clients on-site
  • Participate in an on-call rota (1 in 8 with paid overtime & standby)

Key requirements

  • Proven experience in HVAC and/or refrigeration service
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Experience working on commercial refrigeration systems
  • Background in hospitality, retail, or similar environments beneficial
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based role
  • F-Gas certification
  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Refrigeration / Air Conditioning
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Desirable: Basic gas knowledge or qualifications
