Overview

As a senior member of the Leveraged Finance Credit team, you will lead deal execution and credit support for leveraged transactions. You will interact with cross-functional stakeholders across Global Banking & Markets to drive approvals, risk assessments, and seamless execution for clients. You’ll mentor junior members, manage a portfolio, and maintain robust monitoring of risk and performance. This role offers impact through responsible risk-taking and close collaboration with sponsors, banks, and legal teams. You will operate in a dynamic, client-focused environment within Bank of America’s London office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead deals through internal approval processes and ensure consistent credit support
  • Perform credit analysis (including forecasts), risk rating assessments, due diligence reviews, and draft credit memoranda
  • Review and, where appropriate, negotiate documentation for loans and derivatives
  • Provide independent assessments and recommendations to approval committees and senior decision makers
  • Mentor and coach junior team members; manage a portfolio with timely monitoring (risk ratings, financials, compliance, forecasts)
  • Develop deep understanding of portfolio at client, industry, and macro levels to assess risk and form opinions
  • Ensure adherence to prevailing credit policy and procedures
  • Engage with multiple stakeholders across Leveraged Finance, Financial Sponsors, Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Sales & Trading, Legal, and Risk; interact with third parties such as legal counsel and client management
  • Maintain exposure to full product spectrum and cross-functional engagement

Key requirements

  • Experience in Leveraged Finance preferred; strong credit analysis and risk assessment ability
  • Strong stakeholder and transaction management skills
  • Understanding of credit risk drivers and rating methodologies
  • Familiarity with leveraged finance structures, terms, and documentation
  • Ability to manage a portfolio and collaborate with cross-functional teams
