Overview

In this role you will own the commercial performance of multiple live projects for a regional main contractor. You will manage procurement, valuations, cost control and final accounts, working with clients, site teams and subcontractors to maximise value. The position offers broad exposure to build and civil engineering schemes across Yorkshire, with hybrid working and travel. You will drive financial reporting, risk management and opportunities for improvements within a collaborative, growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial aspects from procurement through final account, ensuring financial performance
  • Oversee valuations, cost control, forecasting, CVRs, cash flow, variations and financial reporting across multiple projects
  • Manage procurement activities and subcontractor packages, including payments and final accounts
  • Monitor budgets and commercial performance, identifying risks, changes and opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Ensure contractual compliance and maintain accurate commercial records and reports
  • Collaborate with project and site teams to support delivery and optimise performance

Key requirements

  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction processes and cost management
  • Experience across building, civil engineering, civils or streetworks advantageous
  • Confident managing multiple projects and stakeholders
  • Strong communication, negotiation and organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Proactive and motivated with willingness to develop professionally
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline is desirable
