Overview
In this Senior Quantity Surveyor role you drive the commercial performance of large rail and infrastructure projects. You will operate within a established commercial team, coordinating with project and client stakeholders to manage costs, risks, and contracts from concept to completion. The position offers ownership of significant projects and opportunities to shape commercial strategy in a rail-focused environment. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to identify value, optimize procurement, and secure strong client relationships.

Responsibilities
- Manage project costs and overall commercial performance
- Prepare CVRs, forecasting and commercial reporting
- Oversee contractual obligations and commercial risk
- Procurement and subcontract management
- Manage changes, variations and final accounts
- Identify commercial opportunities and best-value solutions
- Build relationships with clients and supply chain partners
- Provide commercial support to the wider project team
- Manage projects with a high degree of autonomy
Key requirements
- Relevant commercial/QS qualification
- Strong experience with CVRs, forecasting and commercial reporting
- Good knowledge of NEC and other forms of contract
- Experience managing projects with limited supervision
- Strong subcontract and supply chain management experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive and commercially driven approach
- Experience within rail or major infrastructure environments (advantageous)
