Overview
As a Patent Attorney at InterDigital, you manage a global portfolio of wireless and video patent assets, supporting licensing and litigation teams. You will prosecute applications across multiple jurisdictions and help develop families that maximize licensing value. You’ll work with inventors, technical experts, and cross-functional teams to align claims with standards and products. This role blends strategic portfolio management with hands-on prosecution in a dynamic research-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Prosecute a global patent portfolio across multiple jurisdictions
- Collaborate with inventors, technical experts, and licensing and litigation teams
- Prepare and file EP/US national first filings, PCT, continuation, divisional, and reissue applications
- Strategically develop and manage patent families to support licensing programs
- Map claims to standards and products in line with standard/product licensing strategy
- Assist in post-grant reviews, support licensing and litigation teams in assertion efforts, evaluate assets for potential acquisitions, prepare SSO patent declarations
Key requirements
- At least 5 years post-qualification experience as a Patent Attorney with EP or US qualifications
- Experience preparing and prosecuting EP/US and foreign patent applications in video technologies or wireless communications
- Strong technical background in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Telecommunications or related field
- Experience with wireless standards (3GPP, IEEE 802.11) and standards-based prosecution
- Experience working with foreign counsels
- English fluency mandatory
- Ability to learn complex technology and work independently while collaborating with a broader team
