Located justoutside Stroud town centre in Gloucestershire, The Lighthouse is awelcoming 5-bedded residential home supporting young females aged13–18 who are experiencing mental health difficulties. Withexcellent transport links, including a local bus station, trainstation, and just a 10-minute walk from the town centre, TheLighthouse provides a supportive and nurturing environment whereyoung people can thrive. 

Whatyou’ll be doing

As RegisteredManager, you will have full responsibility for the leadership,development, and day-to-day management of the residentialchildren’s home. You will ensure that children receive outstandingcare in a safe, nurturing environment, enabling them to makeprogress in all aspects of their lives. You will work closely witha highly supportive senior leadership team and play a key role inshaping the service’s culture, achievements, andsuccess. You will beexpected to:

  • Leadon the day-to-day operations of the children’s home
  • Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations andChildren’s Home Regulations 2015
  • Create apositive, child-centred, trauma-informed and therapeutic culturewithin the home
  • Lead, develop, and support thestaff team
  • Safeguard and promote the welfareof all children
  • Ensure high-quality careplans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies are inplace and effectively implemented
  • Build andmaintain strong relationships with local authorities and externalprofessionals
  • Ensure positive outcomes forchildren across education, independence and wellbeing
  • Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, achieving ‘Good’or ‘Outstanding’ outcomes
  • Support an effectiveteam through recruitment, staff development, and teamretention

What you’llbring to the role

  • Previous experience within children’s residential care atmanagement or deputy level
  • Strongunderstanding of Ofsted regulations and safeguardingpractices
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership &Management for Residential Childcare (or workingtowards)
  • Passionate about therapeutic andtrauma-informed care
  • Strong leadership andcommunication skills
  • Child-focused, resilient,and values-driven approach
