This is an excellent opportunityfor an engineer with strong experience acrossindustrial rotating and vibratorymachinery who enjoys getting hands-on with complexequipment, diagnosing faults and taking ownership of engineeringprojects from initial inspection through to repair, servicing andtechnical recommendations.
You’ll work acrossboth the company’s workshop and customer sites throughout the UK,acting as a key technical point of contact between customers,Mechanical Fitters and EngineeringTechnicians.
The RoleAs MechanicalEngineer, your responsibilities willinclude:
- Leadingand supervising machinery inspections, servicing andrepair programmes, both within the workshop and atcustomer sites.
- Inspectingand diagnosing faults across industrial rotating andvibratory machinery, including screeners, feeders,separators and vibratoryconveyors.
- Carrying outroot cause analysis and identifyingpractical, effective engineeringsolutions.
- Supporting thedesign and modification of machinery andequipment.
- Managingmachinery service and repair programmes, including planned andtargeted repairschedules.
- Supervisingonsite inspections, commissioning programmes, condition monitoringand mechanicaltroubleshooting.
- Supportingthe diagnosis of basic electrical faults whererequired.
- Producingdetailed technical engineeringreports, clearly communicating findings, structuralconclusions and engineeringrecommendations.
- Workingclosely with hands-on Mechanical Fitters and EngineeringTechnicians to ensure repair and servicing work is deliveredeffectively.
- Acting as aprofessional, knowledgeable representative of the business whendealing directly withcustomers.
WhatWe’re Looking ForWe’re looking for an experienced engineer whobrings a strong combination of engineering theory,practical experience and client-facing communicationskills.
You will ideallyhave:
- A minimum of5 years’ experience within a relevantindustrial engineeringenvironment.
- Strongexperience servicing and repairing industrialrotating equipment and vibratorymachinery.
- Knowledgeof manufacturing and repair techniques includingmachining, welding, fabrication andfastening.
- Experiencewith machinery design principles andanalysis.
- Strongfault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solvingabilities.
- Experiencemanaging or supervising engineering inspections, servicing andrepairprogrammes.
- Experienceproducing professional technical reports and engineeringrecommendations.
- Theconfidence to communicate technical information clearly tocustomers and internal engineeringteams.
- Current or recentexperience within an engineering service environment involving bothworkshop and onsite customer work ishighlydesirable.
QualificationsIdeally,you will hold:
- ABEng/BSc Degree or HND in MechanicalEngineering, or a closely aligneddiscipline.
- IncorporatedEngineer (IEng) status with a professionallyrecognised body would be highlyadvantageous.
- A validCCNSG Safety Passport, or equivalentindustrial site safetycertification.
- Afull UK driving licence isessential.
Flexibility& TravelDue to the nature of the role, you must be comfortabletravelling to customer sites throughout the UK. There will beoccasional overnight stays and, where required to meet customeroperational needs, some out-of-hours or weekendwork.
