Overview
In this role you ensure complex care placements and services deliver safe, value-for-money outcomes for vulnerable clients. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to manage placements, funding decisions, and discharge planning, shaping care pathways and governance. You’ll tackle high-risk, high-cost cases and collaborate with local authorities, regulators, and providers. Responsibilities
- Review placements and care packages funded by the ICB, prioritising high-risk/high-cost cases
- Manage and contribute to S117 and Joint Funding Panel decisions with Local Authorities
- Support management of mental health rehab placements and discharges for Complex CYP
- Discharge-flow management for DTOC, MADE events, LAEP; escalation handling
- Undertake brokerage on behalf of LBHF when required
- Manage quality issues in placements, safeguarding, provider concerns, liaising with CQC
- Undertake dispute resolution and arrange legal support related to DoLs/S117/MHA
- Maintain accurate case and financial records on Caretrack systems
Key requirements
- Degree-level education in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
- Post-graduate degree in Management Studies or equivalent
- Significant experience in a politically sensitive environment
- Experience coordinating projects in complex/challenging environments
- Experience managing risks and reporting
- Experience drafting briefing papers and correspondence at SMT level
- Experience monitoring budgets and business planning processes
- Understanding of the public sector
- Demonstrated experience in a healthcare environment
