Job Description:

As an assistant manager of a pub, you will work closely withthe general manager to oversee the daily operations and provide excellentcustomer service. You will assist in managing the pub’s staff, ensuring apositive work environment, and maintaining high standards of quality andcleanliness. Your role is crucial in creating a welcoming atmosphere andensuring that customers have a pleasant experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Staff Supervision: Assist in recruiting,training, and supervising pub staff. Provide guidance, support, andconstructive feedback to ensure high performance and adherence to policies andprocedures. Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Customer Service: Foster a customer-centricenvironment and ensure exceptional service is provided to patrons. Handlecustomer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional and timelymanner. Resolve any issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Operations Management: Assist in managing dailyoperations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, andinventory management. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations andmaintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Sales and Marketing: Collaborate with thegeneral manager to develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenuetargets. Promote pub events, specials, and promotions to attract customers andmaximize sales opportunities.
  • Financial Management: Assist in monitoringexpenses, controlling costs, and managing budgets. Help with inventory control,ordering supplies, and managing vendor relationships. Prepare reports andfinancial statements as required.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Foster a positivework environment by promoting teamwork, effective communication, andcooperation among staff members. Liaise with other departments or externalparties, such as suppliers or entertainment providers, as necessary.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with licensinglaws, regulations, and health and safety standards. Stay updated on changes inregulations and implement necessary measures to meet legal requirements.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify andresolve operational issues or challenges. Make decisions in the absence of thegeneral manager and elevate significant concerns when necessary.
  • Pub Maintenance: Coordinate maintenance andrepairs, ensuring that the pub’s facilities and equipment are well-maintainedand in good working order. Report any maintenance issues to the appropriatedepartment or service provider.
  • Training and Development: Assist in developingand delivering training programs for staff to enhance their skills andknowledge. Keep up-to-date with industry trends and developments to providestaff with relevant information.
