Apply for the Residential Conveyancing Without the Corporate Feel | Ipswich
Location: Colchester
Job Description:

Join a well-established, close-knit Ipswich firm where you’ll know your colleagues, know your clients and have the flexibility to make the role work for you.

If you’re an experienced Residential Conveyancer (with any qualification, Solicitor, Legal Exec or CLC) looking for somewhere a little more personal than a large corporate practice, this could be an opportunity worth exploring.

We’re working with a long-established, independent law firm in Ipswich where the team is small, friendly and well established. They are looking for someone who can take ownership of their own residential conveyancing caseload and become a trusted part of the team.

The firm prides itself on providing a traditional, personal legal service, with high standards of client care and a down-to-earth approach.

Why this role?

Your own caseload – Manage residential sales, purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity from instruction through to completion.

A genuinely close-knit team – This is a smaller practice where people know each other, work closely together and take pride in supporting their colleagues.

Quality over volume – The emphasis is on doing things properly: keeping clients informed, progressing matters efficiently and maintaining well-managed files.

Good support around you – You’ll work alongside an experienced conveyancing colleague, with administrative and post-completion support available.

Potential flexibility – Full-time is preferred, but the firm is open to discussing a longer part-time arrangement, such as four days a week, for the right person.

The Role

You’ll manage a varied residential conveyancing caseload, including:

  • Sales and purchases
  • Remortgages
  • Transfers of equity
  • Client communication and advice
  • File management and compliance
  • Liaising with other parties to keep transactions moving
  • Working closely with colleagues and support staff

The expectation is that you’ll take responsibility for your own matters while knowing that experienced colleagues are around when you need them.

About You

You’ll ideally have at least two years’ residential conveyancing experience, although the firm is open to considering a strong newly qualified candidate who has gained good conveyancing experience and is ready to develop.

You could be a:

  • Solicitor
  • Licensed Conveyancer
  • Chartered Legal Executive

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who is organised, reliable and takes pride in providing a good service to clients.

You’ll be comfortable managing your own workload, communicating clearly with clients and other professionals, and working as part of a small team where everyone plays an important role.

Location is important for this position, so you’ll need to be local to Ipswich and able to work from the office. A four-day working week could be considered for the right candidate.

Salary & Package

The salary will be £40,000+, depending on qualification and experience.

The firm is willing to be flexible for the right person, particularly where you bring strong residential conveyancing experience and can make an immediate contribution.

Could this be the right move for you?

If you’re looking for a smaller firm where you won’t simply be another name on a structure chart, this could be worth a conversation.

You don’t have to be actively looking, and you certainly don’t need to tick every box before getting in touch. If the role has caught your attention, let’s have a confidential conversation and see whether it could work for you.
