Nixon McQuade is delighted to be recruiting a Compliance Assistant on behalf of a leading commercial law firm in Belfast.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an administrator with a relevant degree to develop a career in legal risk and compliance. No previous compliance experience is required, with full training and support provided.
The Role:
Support client onboarding and the opening of new client and matter files.
Obtain and review client identification and onboarding documentation.
Assist with anti-money laundering checks, sanctions screening and client due diligence.
Maintain accurate compliance records and follow up on outstanding information.
Liaise with solicitors and business services teams, responding to routine queries and escalating issues where required.
Support file reviews, audits and improvements to compliance processes.
The Person:
A relevant degree in Law, Business or a related discipline.
Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Able to manage multiple tasks and work proactively.
A willingness to learn and an interest in developing a career in compliance.
Previous exposure to client onboarding, financial crime, risk or regulatory processes would be beneficial but is not essential.
