Priory Hospital Suttons Manor,Stapleford Tawney, offers a wide range of support to people withcomplex mental health needs. Working in a forensiclow secure service for male patients with mental health needs andphysical health challenges. Shifts are long days and nights working4 shifts and 3 shifts over a two week rolling pattern. Workinghours include weekends, bank holidays and all festival periods.Site is in a remote area with no public transport links on Sundaysso will need to ensure ability to travel to and from work site onall days of the week.
What you’ll bedoing
You will be part of acompassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. Wetake a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help peoplemove forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfillingfuture. You will play a key part in their recovery, assistingqualified staff with the assessment and implementation ofindividual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks andactivities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing,dignity and treatment of patients
• Ensure that the people who useour service have any personal needs or requirements met; includingpersonal care, participation in activities and support with dailyliving tasks. To support people who use our service in achievingtheir outcomes in the way that they choose. • Completedaily administration including updating person centred support& care plans, updating charts and completing accurate dailynotes. • Maintains professional relationships whilstdeveloping a good rapport with the people who use our service,their family, colleagues, visitors and other stakeholders.• Through own professional behaviour, including adheringto policies and procedures, contributes to the maintenance ofsafety, security and confidentiality standards. • Toundertake keyworking responsibility for individual service users,supporting the individual to plan goals and personal outcomes andensure that these are comprehensively documented and reviewed. What you’ll bringto the role
Essentialfor the role
- NVQ2 inHealth & Social Care or related area or equivalent or higherrecognised qualification. GCSE or NVQ2 in English and Maths. N.B.It is not anticipated that all new recruits to the role will haveNVQ2 qualification but will commence the attainment process withinsix months of joining and will have a specific time period in whichto qualify.
- Communication and personalinteraction is a key feature of this role and may include theprovision of support to people who use challenging behaviour as away to communicate their needs and frustrations or who usealternative communication methods such as pictures and signingsystems. This role also requires participation in and promotion ofa team approach at all times, with positive and constructiveworking relationships for the benefit of the service user. Tocontribute both verbally and in writing to service user reviews andsupport planning.
- The problemsfaced by many service users may present challenging situations,which may increase the physical, sensory and emotional demands ofthe role.
