Flourish NI provides long term tailored support to both male and female survivors of human trafficking and their immediate family members. Our aim is to empower survivors of human trafficking to be able to move on to lead independent and resilient lives which are not defined by their past a brighter future

We provide structured and flexible one-to-one casework support that is tailored to meet the holistic needs of the individual and this is carried out by trained staff.

We prioritise ways for survivors to share community, learn new skills, build confidence, and improve their general well-being either through attendance at Flourish programmes, courses and activities, through sign posting or partnership working.

We provide therapeutic interventions through 1:1 counselling and group art therapy.

We provide training to case workers and other organisations in areas surrounding trafficking and long-term support for survivors.

Role description

As part of a team, you will primarily provide flexible casework cover for our Help Hub service which is our open access drop-in sessions for clients of Flourish. Additionally, you will support clients outside of the drop-in sessions, through appointments and remote support.

The support will be holistic and person-centred.

Our Help Hub service is a busy and safe space that supports survivors on a wide range of topics, examples of which can include: housing, mental health, independent living skills, engaging with education, finances, physical health, family support and signposting.

Main duties and key responsibilities

  • Work at our Help Hub to support survivors, identifying needs and supporting them to explore their options.

  • Provide high-quality, rights-based information, advice and advocacy across a range of needs, including signposting and liaison with other services to help individuals access appropriate support.

  • Provide information in a way that is understandable and accessible.

  • Ensuring that Help Hub is always a safe and welcoming space for everyone.

  • Provide one-to-one casework appointments outside of Help Hub.

  • Build meaningful relationships with clients which are both compassionate and professional.

  • Provide trauma informed and strength-based support, which enables clients to address underlying psychological and emotional issues and helps to develop resilience.

  • Support clients to access programmes /courses and activities (both in-house and externally) which reduces isolation, improves confidence, builds self- esteem and enhances personal development.

  • Identify barriers preventing clients from accessing support services and advocate on their behalf while raising awareness of their rights.
