HGV Mechanic / Engineer

Job Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced HGV fitter / mechanic to work at their workshop in Richmond. This is a long‑term contract position with an immediate start.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repairs on vans, HGVs and mini buses
• Carry out routine Safety Inspections on HGVs in line with DVSA standards
• Prepare HGVs for annual MOT
• Prepare detailed maintenance inspection reports in line with DVSA regulations

Qualifications & Skills

• Familiarity with DVSA standards and procedures
• Knowledge of petrol and diesel engines
• Ability to use engine diagnostic equipment
• Class 4 and 7 MOT qualification is an advantage (not essential)
• Valid driving licence Category C (HGV entitlement)

Working Hours

07:30 – 16:30 Monday to Friday (40 hours per week, including a one‑hour lunch break)
