Overview
In this role you will serve as a sanctions subject matter expert within Global Compliance, helping to ensure the firm adheres to UK, EU and OFAC regulations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess sanctions risks, guide complex transactions, and support regulatory reporting and governance. The position offers exposure to a global program, with opportunities to mentor juniors and shape sanctions controls and training. Your work directly supports the firm’s anti-financial crime program and risk management objectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance on sanctions matters across business, operations and technology divisions
- Undertake assessments and investigations of sanctions issues and prepare regulatory reports and disclosures
- Advise on sanctions implications for key controls and new business activity
- Ensure metrics, deadlines, and record-keeping obligations are met
- Contribute to sanctions and FCC governance forums
- Deliver sanctions training to employees
Key requirements
- At least 6 years’ sanctions advisory experience at a global financial institution or relevant government agency
- Substantive knowledge of UK, EU and OFAC sanctions and advising stakeholders on sanctions risks and controls
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret complex regulatory guidance
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to synthesize information and provide actionable recommendations
- Ability to manage multiple priority projects and deliver high-quality results
