Overview

As Principal PM for Platform Capabilities at Funding Circle, you will set the strategy and roadmap for internal platform services (identity & access, engineering platform, and related services) used by Risk, Operations, Sales and Engineering teams. You’ll own migrations, ensuring smooth adoption and sunset of legacy systems, and partner with Architecture, Engineering and product lines to align roadmaps. You’ll drive regular discovery, change management, and measure success by faster delivery and completed migrations. Responsibilities

  • Define the platform capabilities strategy and roadmap used across the company
  • Own migrations from legacy to new systems and drive adoption
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Product Engineering and product leads (Loans, FlexiPay, Cards) for aligned roadmaps
  • Conduct regular discovery with internal functions and manage change to ensure adoption
  • Balance multiple stakeholders’ priorities from Risk, Operations, and Sales without direct authority
  • Assess trade-offs, interfaces, and migration costs in technical discussions
  • Measure impact by faster shipping, reduced reliance on you, and completed migrations

Key requirements

  • Experience owning a dependency used by multiple teams and driving adoption
  • Strong technical depth for conversations with engineers about trade-offs and costs
  • Ability to influence Risk, Operations and Sales without formal authority
  • AI-native mindset with Claude Code or Codex and applying it to product design
  • Clear written and verbal communication to align Architecture, Engineering, and Product leadership
  • Experience in fintech or regulated environments with operational complexity
  • Experience migrating away from a system stakeholders were attached to
  • Understanding of auditability and data protection as design constraints
