As a Senior/Principal Engineer at WSP, you will lead delivery of civil and bridge projects, ensuring quality on time and within budget. You will mentor junior team members while collaborating across rail and highways projects for major clients. Responsibilities
- Bridge design, in the UK and overseas
- Bridge management
- Bridge strengthening and repair, inspections and assessments
- General civil and structural engineering support to other teams
- Feasibility studies and options appraisals
- Preparation of documents, reports, health and safety risk assessments, scheme designs and drawings, feasibility studies and outline cost estimates
- Preparation of fee estimates
- Supervision of junior team members and CAD technicians
Key requirements
- Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer
- Experience in bridge design, maintenance and assessment on site and in design office
- Project management experience of bridge projects
- Proven design, maintenance and supervision experience with a track record of innovation
- Knowledge of DMRB and MCDHW in relation to structural schemes
- Understanding and application of Eurocodes to bridge design
- Experience with steel, reinforced and prestressed concrete bridge structures
- Experience with grillage, space frame and finite element analysis software packages (LUSAS, Superstress, SAM)
