Overview
In this role you lead and support Life Cycle Assessment activities to integrate LCA into product development and lifecycle decisions. You will collaborate with engineering, product management, procurement, and sustainability teams to quantify and reduce environmental impacts. You’ll build scalable LCA models, develop product carbon footprints, and translate findings into actionable business insights. This position offers impact across products and supply chains, advancing ADM’s sustainability goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support LCA activities for products, materials and product families
- Develop product carbon footprints and LCA studies per ISO 14040/14044/14067 and GHG Protocol
- Integrate LCA considerations into New Product Development and sustaining engineering
- Identify carbon reduction opportunities via material choices, design optimization, and supplier engagement
- Manage data validation for LCA calculations (product, material, supplier, manufacturing, logistics)
- Develop and implement LCA tools, models, templates, and guidance
- Build scalable LCA models usable across platforms and material groups
- Translate LCA results into clear business insights for cross-functional teams
- Support customer sustainability requests with data and explanations
- Collaborate with procurement to improve data quality and availability of emissions data
- Support Design for Sustainability through data-driven carbon impact insights
- Contribute to LCA software evaluation and external data provider selections
- Develop internal training to raise LCA awareness across ADM and TE teams
- Stay updated on evolving LCA, sustainability, and regulatory expectations
- Ensure LCA outputs are robust, transparent, and suitable for decision-making and reporting
Key requirements
- 3–5 years of LCA, product carbon footprinting, or related sustainability experience
- Strong knowledge of ISO 14040/14044/14067 and GHG Protocol
- Experience with LCA software and lifecycle inventory databases
- Ability to analyze complex product, BOM, supplier, and emissions data with gaps and uncertainty
- Experience delivering product carbon footprints and responding to sustainability requests
- Strong communication to translate technical sustainability into business insights
- Proven cross-functional collaboration across engineering, product management, procurement, and compliance
- Understanding of eco-design, circularity, low-carbon materials, and regulatory requirements (REACH, RoHS, PFAS)
- Experience in manufacturing/industrial sectors; proficiency with data tools (Excel, Power BI, Python)
