Overview

In this role you lead day-to-day operations for WSP’s Liveable Places in London, owning P&L and budget delivery. You’ll foster a strong client and project culture while enabling technically excellent, efficient delivery across disciplines. You collaborate with regional and national leaders to optimize resources, governance, and risk, all while upholding health, safety and wellbeing. The position offers a path to influence large-scale, landmark projects within a global firm.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee workload, utilisation, and resource planning with team leads
  • Foster multi-disciplinary collaboration to optimize resourcing
  • Interface with GCC and support joint UK-India initiatives
  • Manage recruitment to meet project and budget targets
  • Integrate UK-wide best practices (e.g., BMS) and drive operational improvements
  • Own annual budget and financial performance (Revenue, Margin, EBITDA, DSO)
  • Provide financial forecasting accuracy and governance for Go/No Go decisions
  • Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Wellbeing; oversee HSEQ
  • Lead training, development, and retention within Liveable Places cost centres
  • Coordinate sharing of best practices and drive innovation and Future Ready initiatives
  • Support succession planning and talent management; liaise with HR on employee matters

Key requirements

  • Leadership and people management across Local Government and wider WSP context
  • Proven experience in managing P&L and commercial contributions
