Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead mechanical building services projects within a growing MEP team in Northampton. You will mentor junior engineers while overseeing detailed design, reporting and surveying activities from inception to completion. The position offers a path toward an associate level as the firm expands and wins new frameworks. You will work closely with architects and developers to shape robust, technically sound designs that support project delivery and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and manage client-facing engagements
• Mentor and support junior engineers development
• Produce detailed mechanical design work and specifications
• Prepare reports, surveys and design documentation
• Coordinate with architects and developers from concept to completion
• Support business development and project delivery within the MEP scope

Key requirements

• At least 6 years of experience in mechanical building services design
• Experience managing your own projects
• Client-facing role experience
• Ability to tutor/mentor junior engineers
• Knowledge of Hevacomp is ideal
• Appreciation for CAD and REVIT
