Overview

As Technical Architect you will own end-to-end solution design for a high-profile fintech platform, guiding cross-functional teams and ensuring delivery aligns with business goals. You’ll mentor engineers, liaise with business change and partner teams, and uphold industry standards. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic planning in a fast-paced, cloud-enabled environment. You will operate at scale on a greenfield trading platform and bank API initiatives, shaping the architecture and delivering robust, secure systems. Responsibilities

• Align solutions with business change goals and requirements
• Own end-to-end solution design and technical accountability
• Ensure architectures meet industry standards and best practices
• Integrate with supplier and partner systems
• Review and adjust technical deliverables and plans
• Act as escalation point for critical design issues
• Estimate and plan IT projects with commercial awareness
• Elicit requirements, develop functional/non-functional specs, and translate into technical designs
• Mentor junior developers and architects and promote best practices
• Collaborate with testing to deliver quality products

Key requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• At least fifteen years’ experience as Solutions/Technical Architect on large programmes
• Experience as a Technical Architect in Financial Services or Banking
• Proven ability to design multi-tier and complex architectures
• Strong knowledge of programming languages and processes: C#, C++, SQL Server, Java, ASP.NET MVC, WCF, HTML, XML, JSON, CSS, Bootstrap, AJAX, jQuery, UML, REST API, React, AngularJS
• Experience with conceptual, logical and physical data modelling
• Excellent understanding of cloud infrastructure and deployment best practices
