Overview

As CDM Advisor, you will ensure projects within your area comply with CDM Regulations, giving expert guidance and conducting site audits. You’ll assess activities with the CDM tool, define duty holders, and support PCI/Design Risk Management within Maintenance and Engineering Services. You’ll verify MoCDM compliance, prepare PCI information, and review Construction Phase Plans and risk assessments. This role supports safe, compliant design and construction across water assets, contributing to the IOS Alliance’s environmental and social objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Assess work activities using the CDM Assessment tool to classify maintenance vs CDM complexity
  • Define and verify CDM strategies and duty holders for projects
  • Review PCI/Design Risk Management within Maintenance and Engineering Services
  • Oversee PCI preparation and identify information gaps
  • Ensure designs meet Anglian Water MoCDM and Safe To Operate criteria
  • Review Construction Phase Plans for management and welfare provisions
  • Assist with risk assessments and method statements for high-risk activities
  • Conduct CDM audits across design and construction phases
  • Provide CDM compliance data for reports to the CDM Team

Key requirements

  • Qualification in engineering or health and safety
  • NEBOSH Certificate (if not Construction Cert., demonstrate other construction training)
  • Experience in multi-discipline design teams and applying H&S in design
  • Understanding of water industry asset operation and maintenance
  • Knowledge of construction processes and procedures
  • Membership of an appropriate engineering or health and safety institution
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder communication skills
  • Problem solving, flexibility, and commitment
  • Good IT skills, Microsoft Office 365 familiarity
