SENIOR BUYER – FMCG / CONVENIENCE – 7 Month FTC
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are partnering with a well-established and growing consumer business to recruit a Senior Buyer into its commercial team. This is a broad buying role with responsibility for developing and managing a portfolio of products, working closely with suppliers and internal teams to deliver the right range, pricing and commercial performance.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and developing a portfolio of products within a fast-paced consumer environment
- Building strong, commercially focused relationships with UK and international suppliers
- Identifying new products, trends and opportunities to strengthen the range
- Negotiating pricing, terms and promotional opportunities
- Using sales, margin and market data to inform buying decisions
- Working closely with internal teams across merchandising, marketing, supply chain and operations
- Managing the critical path from product selection through to launch
- Monitoring category performance and identifying opportunities for growth
- Supporting wider commercial and strategic projects as the business continues to evolve

ABOUT THE CANDIDATE
We are looking for an experienced Buyer / Senior Buyer with a strong commercial mindset and experience within a fast-moving consumer environment.
You will ideally have:
- Proven buying experience within FMCG, grocery, convenience, wholesale or a related consumer category
- Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management skills
- Experience managing products from sourcing through to launch
- A good understanding of pricing, margin, sales and commercial performance
- Confidence working with data and using insight to support buying decisions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, commercially minded approach with the ability to identify opportunities
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with imported products and international suppliers would be advantageous
Please note: applicants must be able to commute to the North West London office within approximately one hour, as the role requires two days per week in the office.
