Overview
In this role you will spearhead analog IC design within a growing technology company in Edinburgh. You’ll own projects from concept through silicon, shaping design methodologies while mentoring a new design team. Collaborating with the R&D Director, you will blend hands-on engineering with technical leadership to drive high-performance, low-noise, low-power mixed-signal products. Responsibilities
- Lead analog IC design projects from concept/architecture to implementation, verification and completion
- Provide technical leadership to the broader team and establish design methodologies
- Shape and grow the new IC design function, including mentoring junior/mid-level engineers
- Collaborate with R&D leadership to align on project goals and delivery
- Drive ownership and accountability for design quality and timelines
- Support relocation, visa sponsorship processes as part of team expansion
Key requirements
- Significant hands-on experience in analog IC design
- Strong experience in low-noise and low-power circuits
- Experience across mixed-signal IC design
- Background in consumer electronics or high-volume commercial products
- Proven ability to take IC designs from concept through silicon
- Strong technical problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering complex projects
- Leadership experience or potential to build and lead a growing engineering team
