Quantity Surveyor Rail

Overview

In this role you will support a main rail and civil contractor on a multi-discipline project in West London. You will manage commercial activities to protect project value and ensure timely financial reporting. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to handle procurement, contracts, and risk management for a £40m rail/civil project. This is a hands-on commercial position that contributes to project delivery and financial health. You will work in a dynamic rail/civil environment with opportunities to progress Chartered status.

Responsibilities

• Prepare valuations and applications for payment
• Produce cost reports for the client
• Manage subcontract and materials procurement schedules
• Administer subcontractor/supplier accounts
• Contract administration including change management and registers
• Maintain project risk and opportunities schedules
• Procurement for project/section of works
• Ensure procurement understands allowances and procedures
• Provide financial reporting for project/section of works
• Prepare cash forecasts and quarterly forecasts

Key requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Progressed from a commercial background
• Experience in Rail and Civil sectors
• Chartered or working towards Chartership
