Overview

In this role you lead geochemistry and hydrogeology-focused projects within a top UK consultancy, delivering assessments, investigations and sustainable remediation solutions. You’ll oversee fieldwork, data analysis and client-facing advisory, shaping decisions to manage environmental risks. You will work with senior staff to guide technical and commercial aspects from start to finish, driving meaningful outcomes for clients and communities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental assessments (PSA, DSA, QRA, DQRA, CSM) and data interpretation
  • Oversee groundwater and surface water monitoring for project analysis
  • Design and implement site investigations in geochemical/hydrogeological contexts
  • Develop, specify, and validate remediation strategies and actions
  • Provide strategic environmental advice on water environment impacts
  • Support project delivery and client relationship building with senior staff guidance

Key requirements

  • Academic background in geochemical and hydrogeological geoscience or related subjects
  • Broad experience in geochemical and hydrogeological aspects of contaminated land assessment and management
  • Strong understanding of contaminated land assessment regulations and guidance
  • Hands-on field investigation experience (site management, drilling supervision, monitoring systems)
  • Experience in hydrogeological site characterisation and risk assessment; numerical modelling is advantageous
  • Experience in geochemical assessments; geochemical modelling is advantageous
  • Chartered with a recognised institution
  • Track record of project delivery and client relationship building
