Knowledge, skills and experience

Educationand Training

  • A good honours degree in Maths or a relatedsubject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and eligibilityto work in the UK.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional developmentand reflective practice to continually improve teaching and learning.

Experience

  • Experience of teaching young people in a schoolsetting, with a proven ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities.
  • Experience of planning, delivering, andassessing lessons across the Maths curriculum.
  • Experience of contributing to departmentalinitiatives, curriculum development, or extracurricular activities.
  • Strong classroom management and the ability tocreate a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • An understanding of how to support students ofdifferent abilities to access learning and make progress.
  • An awareness of the importance of assessment andfeedback in supporting student progress.
  • A commitment to developing effective strategiesto raise achievement and support positive learning behaviours.

Knowledgeand Skills

  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths
  • An awareness of the National Curriculum and GCSEMaths requirements.
  • A commitment to high expectations and inclusiveteaching, ensuring all students can access the curriculum.
  • The ability to motivate and engage students ofall abilities, encouraging curiosity, scientific thinking, and activeparticipation in Maths
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively withcolleagues and contribute positively to the department and wider schoolcommunity.
  • An understanding of the importance of positivebehaviour management and strong classroom routines.
