Overview

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will contribute to product development and engineering improvements for heavy equipment in the material handling division. You will work within a collaborative, globally active manufacturing environment that values long-term stability and career progression. The role focuses on designing from concept to production, solving technical problems, and driving efficiency with cross-functional teams. This is a hands-on design position with real impact on product quality, safety, and cost. You will engage with manufacturing, purchasing, service, and operations to deliver robust solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Support product improvement and engineering enhancement projects
  • Lead product improvement and cost reduction initiatives
  • Support engineering design activities from concept through to production
  • Create and maintain engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Manage engineering changes in line with company procedures
  • Support technical problem-solving activities across engineering and production
  • Assist with product support and technical queries
  • Work closely with manufacturing and supply chain teams to support operational efficiency
  • Support safety improvement activities across product lines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering and operations

Key requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within equipment design and manufacturing environments
  • Experience with mechanical design and engineering documentation
  • Strong CAD experience with 3D design packages such as SolidWorks or similar
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical standards
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes including fabrication and welding
  • Good communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office packages
