Therapeutic Support Worker x West Lodge, Children’s Residential Home

Advertised are full time, open-ended positions for 37 hours per week.

West Lodge is an established Children’s Residential Home, based in St Ishmaels, Haverfordwest. Here we will provide temporary residence to 10-17 year olds who have encountered a range of adverse childhood experiences.

We are seeking experienced Support Workers to support us in delivering a dynamic, person centred service on an operational level. In this role, you will take designated responsibility for overseeing shifts at West Lodge in line with Care inspectorate Wales regulations.

The team is structured on an annualised, rota basis including evenings, nights & weekends to ensure that West Lodge continues to provide a consistently warm, safe, welcoming, happy, friendly and nurturing environment. Flexibility would be expected.

The role includes an 8% enhancement for weekend working and an additional 8% enhancement for qualifying unsocial hours. You will also receive a standby/sleep‑in payment of £40.76 per sleep‑in, with a contractual requirement to complete 64 sleep‑ins per year, providing an annual value of £2,608.64. In addition, the position offers a £3,000 Golden Hello payment, subject to the applicable terms and conditions. Overall, this package provides significant additional earnings on top of the base salary through enhancements, sleep‑in payments, and the one‑off recruitment incentive. To comply with the Care Standards Inspectorate for Wales requirements, applicants must be at least 21 years old and hold NVQ 3 in Caring for Children or Children and Young People or willingness to work towards this qualification.
