We are recruiting for an experienced Engineering Project Manager to join an established business in Lancashire.

This is an opportunity to take responsibility for the delivery of engineering and capital projects within a busy operational environment, working with internal teams, contractors and suppliers from initial concept through to completion.

The role would suit an experienced engineering professional who combines strong technical understanding with the ability to plan, coordinate and successfully deliver projects.

The role

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing engineering and capital projects from initial scope through to implementation and completion.
  • Developing project plans, timescales, budgets and resource requirements.
  • Coordinating internal engineering and operational teams, contractors and suppliers.
  • Managing project costs and monitoring progress against agreed objectives.
  • Supporting the specification and procurement of equipment and engineering services.
  • Identifying and managing project risks.
  • Ensuring projects meet appropriate health, safety and quality requirements.
  • Working closely with engineering, maintenance, production and operations teams.
  • Managing contractors and external specialists.
  • Providing regular project updates to the senior management team.
  • Supporting commissioning, handover and implementation of completed projects.

About you

We are interested in hearing from experienced engineering and project professionals from manufacturing, engineering, process, industrial or other operational environments.

You may currently be working as an Engineering Project Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer, Capital Projects Manager, Senior Project Engineer or in a similar position.

You should be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience delivering engineering or capital projects.
  • A strong engineering or technical background.
  • Experience managing budgets, timescales, contractors and suppliers.
  • The ability to coordinate several stakeholders and priorities.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A practical and organised approach to project delivery.

Experience within a regulated, high-hazard or process environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
