Overview

As an Associate Director, you will lead end-to-end cost management on a high-profile London infrastructure project, acting as the primary client interface to ensure objectives are met. You will manage feasibility, cost planning, procurement, post-contract cost control and reporting, while guiding a cost management team and pursuing new business with existing and new clients. Your work helps shape value, risk management and project success within Turner & Townsend’s premier offering. This role combines leadership, technical excellence and client-facing delivery to drive outcomes on major programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end cost management commissions and client interface
  • Conduct feasibility studies and procure­ment reporting
  • Own and present final cost plans and value management inputs
  • Manage procurement processes including pre-qualification, enquiries, analysis, selection and contract preparation
  • Oversee post-contract cost variances, change control and cost checking/valuation
  • Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present to client
  • Lead value engineering and life cycle costing activities
  • Negotiate final accounts and ensure alignment with client objectives
  • Interface with client and other consultants across project stages
  • Lead and/or mentor a cost management team and contribute to bid work and cross-selling opportunities
  • Identify and implement improvements to cost management procedures, templates and products
  • Contribute to resource management and staff appraisals as required
  • Support development of new business with existing and new clients

Key requirements

  • Proven Cost / Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management experience
  • preferably MRICS
  • NEC3 contracts experience (Option C – Target Cost)
  • Post-contract administration experience
  • Experience on major programmes and infrastructure projects (rail, aviation, water/utilities, highways)
  • Experience in leading and managing teams
