Director – Strategic Partnering, Commercial & Property

Permanent

Location – London

We are recruiting a Director of Strategic Partnering, Commercial & Property for a large, complex and purpose-led organisation.

This is a broad and influential senior leadership role with organisation-wide responsibility for strategic finance, business partnering, planning, commercial strategy and corporate property.

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive, you will play a central role in connecting strategy, financial performance and organisational priorities, ensuring senior leaders have the insight, challenge and commercial advice needed to make well-informed decisions.

The role

You will lead a multi-disciplinary portfolio spanning finance business partnering, budgeting and forecasting, business planning, performance insight, commercial contracts, supplier management and corporate property strategy.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the organisation-wide budgeting, forecasting and medium-term financial planning processes
  • Developing a high-quality finance business partnering model that provides insight, constructive challenge and practical support
  • Connecting strategic priorities, resources, performance measures and financial plans
  • Providing financial modelling, scenario analysis and decision support to senior leadership
  • Leading the development of financial performance dashboards and Executive and Board reporting
  • Setting standards for business cases, options appraisal, investment evaluation and benefits realisation
  • Leading strategic contract and supplier management, including commercial negotiations and value-for-money activity
  • Providing commercial leadership around corporate property and estate strategy
  • Strengthening financial literacy and commercial capability across the organisation
  • Leading and developing a high-performing multi-disciplinary team

About you

You will be a qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent – with substantial senior leadership experience within a complex organisation.

You are likely to bring:

  • Significant experience across strategic finance, FP&A, business partnering, planning and performance
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and scenario-planning experience
  • A track record of influencing Executive and Board-level decision-making
  • Strong commercial judgement, including business cases, investment appraisal and value-for-money analysis
  • Experience leading and developing senior finance teams
  • The ability to turn complex financial information into clear, practical recommendations
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to constructively challenge senior leaders
  • A collaborative and commercially minded leadership style

Experience within a charity, regulated, group or similarly complex environment would be advantageous, as would exposure to strategic procurement, supplier management or property strategy.

This is an opportunity to take on a broad Director-level portfolio with genuine organisation-wide influence, combining strategic finance leadership with commercial and operational decision support.
