An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll professional to join a global organisation as part of its EMEA Finance team. This role offers responsibility for accurate and timely monthly payroll processing, employee query resolution and payroll reporting, alongside opportunities to support wider payroll projects and system improvements.

About the Job

Working as part of the EMEA Finance Payroll Team, you will be responsible for supporting the processing of monthly payrolls, managing payroll inputs and ensuring all deadlines are achieved. You will act as a key point of contact for payroll queries from employees and the wider business, while also supporting HR and contributing to ad hoc reporting and payroll projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Process all monthly company payrolls accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Maintain payroll records for starters, leavers and contractual changes.
  • Process variable pay and benefits, including bonuses, overtime, pensions, healthcare, Cycle to Work, childcare vouchers and other payments.
  • Respond to and resolve payroll-related queries from employees and the wider business.
  • Liaise with HR to ensure employee data is accurate and up to date.
  • Complete month-end payroll reconciliations and reporting to meet internal and external requirements.
  • Contribute to ad hoc payroll reporting and projects.
  • Support payroll integration projects, including data cleansing and validation.
  • Assist with parallel payroll runs and validation of payroll outputs.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll issues as part of system and process changes.
  • Adapt processes and priorities in response to changing business requirements.

Previous Experience

  • Previous experience processing payroll using an in-house payroll system.
  • Good understanding of UK PAYE requirements and payroll principles.
  • Experience handling and resolving employee payroll queries.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of data accuracy.
  • Ability to work with and manipulate large datasets.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience within the financial services sector.
  • Commercial awareness and a genuine interest in payroll.
  • Experience using Workday Payroll.
  • Experience processing payroll across non-UK EMEA locations.
  • Experience processing pension payments and deductions.
