Overview
In this role you will provide security architecture expertise across complex, high-assurance programmes. You act as a senior security authority, embedding secure-by-design principles throughout delivery and offering architectural assurance for new and existing solutions. You’ll shape security standards, review multi-environment architectures, and translate threats into practical controls. The role combines hands-on architecture with mentoring and cross-functional collaboration in a secure, regulated context.
Responsibilities
- Design and assure secure architectures across complex technology environments
- Define security architecture principles, standards and design patterns
- Embed security into architecture governance and design processes
- Review cloud, hybrid and on-prem architectures for improvements
- Translate cyber threats and risk into practical controls
- Provide security architecture support to technical teams and transformation programmes
- Ensure alignment with security standards, frameworks and risk requirements
- Act as senior technical authority and mentor professionals
Key requirements
- Proven experience as a Cyber Security Architect
- Experience designing secure architectures in complex, high-risk or highly regulated environments
- Strong knowledge of NCSC CAF, ISO 27001 and relevant security frameworks
- Experience across cloud, hybrid and on-premises infrastructure
- Strong understanding of cyber threats, vulnerabilities and risk-based design
- Experience translating security and compliance requirements into technical architecture
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- TOGAF certification or equivalent enterprise architecture experience is desirable
