Overview
In this role you will drive commercial delivery on major civil and infrastructure projects across Scotland. You will work within a commercial team to manage pre-construction through to completion, shaping cost management and contract compliance. You’ll evaluate variations, claims, and final accounts while monitoring budgets and forecasting costs. This position offers exposure to diverse works (roads, drainage, groundworks, residential developments) and opportunities for long-term career progression in a dynamic civil engineering environment.

Responsibilities
- Managing commercial activities across civil engineering projects
- Preparing cost plans, estimates, valuations, and financial reports
- Administering subcontractor procurement and account management
- Assessing variations, compensation events, and contractual claims
- Monitoring project budgets and forecasting final costs
- Supporting project teams with commercial and contractual advice
- Preparing and negotiating final accounts
- Identifying commercial risks and implementing mitigation measures
- Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures
Key requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure, or groundworks projects
- Strong knowledge of NEC and other standard forms of contract
- Experience managing subcontractor accounts and project reporting
- Excellent analytical and commercial skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project team
