The School of Psychology and Neuroscience is looking to recruit a full-time Administrative Assistant,until 31st March 2027,to provide a professional,efficientand friendly service.You will form part of a happy, dynamic executive support team who work closely together to ensure key School activities are managed and delivered on time.You will provide general office and clerical support in the newly formed School of Psychology and Neuroscience, performing a clearly defined range of standard tasks within established routines and procedures.
This is a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2027
What will you be doing?
The Administrative Assistant acts as the first point of contact formoststaff from across the University, externalcontactsand visitors.It is very important to ensure that those visiting theSchoolare made to feel welcome and that their queries have been addressed to a high standard by exhibiting tact, discretion, maintaining confidentiality as required and demonstrating a steady hand regardless of the volume of work.Independence and initiative will berequiredto react to changing priorities and work circumstances, with scope to make decisions withinvery clearparameters.The role holder will organise their own day-to-day work to meet clearobjectivesproviding an effective service to others.
You should apply if
You shouldpossessa high levelof accuracy and flexibility, as well as excellent organisational and customer service skills, as these are all essential attributes for the role.You should be a good teamplayer andalso have excellent communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of colleagueson a daily basis. In addition, you should be experienced in using a range of IT systems and be able to adapt to new systems and processes quickly.Due to the fixed-term nature of the role, we wouldparticularly welcomeapplications from candidateswho, based on their experience and attitude, candemonstratethat theywillhit the ground running in this role.
