Food & Beverage Guest Service Manager

We’re looking for a professional, friendly, and experienced Food & Beverage Guest Service Manager to join our team and take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our restaurant and bar.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who genuinely understands Food & Beverage operations and is confident leading a team, managing busy services, maintaining high standards, and creating an excellent guest experience.

Previous F&B experience is essential. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working across both the restaurant and bar, understands the demands of hotel F&B, and can lead by example during busy service periods.

What you’ll be doing

  • Taking responsibility for the smooth day-to-day operation of the restaurant and bar
  • Leading, supporting, and motivating the F&B team to deliver friendly, professional, and efficient service
  • Being hands‑on during service and leading the team from the front, particularly during busy periods
  • Ensuring consistently high standards of food, beverage, service, cleanliness, and presentation
  • Managing the bar operation, including stock, service standards, cash handling, and licensing requirements
  • Working closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth communication and service delivery
  • Managing guest enquiries, requests, and feedback professionally
  • Handling and resolving guest complaints promptly and effectively
  • Monitoring guest satisfaction and identifying opportunities to improve the overall F&B experience
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of breakfast, lunch, dinner, bar service, functions, and events
  • Managing daily staffing requirements, rotas, breaks, and team deployment according to business levels
  • Training, coaching, and developing team members to improve their skills and confidence
  • Ensuring F&B procedures, brand standards, health & safety, food safety, and licensing requirements are consistently followed
  • Supporting stock control, ordering, wastage control, and cost management within the department
  • Working closely with the wider hotel management team to ensure effective communication and smooth hotel operations
  • Supporting the F&B leadership team with achieving departmental targets and maintaining strong commercial awareness
  • Ensuring the restaurant, bar, and surrounding areas are clean, organised, and ready for service at all times

What we’re looking for

  • Previous experience in Food & Beverage is essential
  • Previous experience in a restaurant, bar, hotel, or similar hospitality environment
  • Experience supervising or leading an F&B team
  • Confident managing both restaurant and bar operations
  • Good knowledge of food and beverage service standards
  • Experience working in a busy, customer-facing environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering great guest experiences
  • A hands‑on approach with the ability to lead by example
  • Good organization and the ability to prioritise effectively during busy periods
  • Confidence dealing with guest feedback and resolving issues professionally
  • Good understanding of food safety, health & safety, and responsible alcohol service
  • Commercial awareness, with an understanding of the importance of sales, costs, stock control, and profitability
  • Ability to coach, motivate, and develop team members
  • A positive, flexible, and proactive approach to work
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required
