Overview

As Buyer / Procurement Manager, you will unite specialist materials, supplier networks and workshop operations to translate artistic vision into finished pieces. You’ll own procurement, stock control and supplier relationships, collaborating closely with design and production teams. The role offers scope to enhance processes and progress toward broader operational leadership within a renowned British luxury design business. You will work hands-on near the workshop and influence delivery, cost and quality at every stage. This is an opportunity to shape how materials and services flow to support extraordinary commissions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead purchasing across specialist materials and subcontracted services
  • Build and negotiate with supplier relationships, terms and lead times
  • Monitor quality, expenditure, and supply risks
  • Ensure materials are available at the right time, cost and specification
  • Coordinate priorities across design, workshop production, finishing and delivery
  • Own stock accuracy, inventory management and materials planning
  • Organise logistics, deliveries and fleet requirements
  • Support Health & Safety standards and maintain clear records
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows and reduce costs
  • Support Sage 200 ERP implementation and improve purchasing processes
  • Lead two direct reports and develop the wider operational function

Key requirements

  • Strong procurement, buying and supplier-management experience
  • Confident negotiation and cost-control skills with an appreciation of quality
  • Experience managing physical materials, stock and inventory
  • Strong planning skills and ability to coordinate competing priorities
  • Track record of improving processes and smoother day-to-day operations
  • Clear communication and collaborative approach across design, commercial and workshop teams
