Language Arts Tutor – High School

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Language Arts Tutor to provide supplementary academic support to high school students in East London . This role focuses on enhancing students’ reading comprehension, writing skills, grammar, and literature analysis through personalized one-on-one or small group sessions. You will work with students to build confidence, improve academic performance, and foster a love for language and literature. This position offers flexibility and the chance to significantly impact students’ educational progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver individualized tutoring plans to address students’ specific needs in language arts.
• Provide targeted instruction in areas such as reading comprehension, essay writing, grammar, vocabulary, and literary analysis.
• Help students understand and prepare for literature assessments and standardized tests.
• Foster critical thinking and analytical skills related to textual interpretation.
• Monitor student progress, provide regular feedback to students and parents, and adjust strategies as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field.
• Proven experience in tutoring or teaching language arts at the high school level.
• Strong knowledge of English grammar, composition, literature, and reading comprehension strategies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
• Ability to create engaging and effective learning experiences tailored to individual students.
