Senior Technical Consultant – Azure

Overview

As a Technical Consultant focusing on Hybrid Platforms, you will lead Azure projects from design to delivery, shaping secure and scalable cloud solutions for enterprise customers. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into well-architected designs and hands-on implementations, while guiding customers through technical and strategic discussions. This role sits in Softcat’s Professional Services, helping clients realise value from Microsoft Azure technologies and best practices. You’ll be part of a collaborative, growth-minded team that prioritises customer outcomes and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of Microsoft Azure projects across the full lifecycle from design to handover
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Architects and other Consultants to ensure timely delivery
• Engage with customers to translate requirements into well-architected Azure solutions
• Assist with pre-sales and customer conversations related to Azure technologies
• Design and deliver secure, scalable, and resilient Azure solutions aligned to business needs
• Implement Azure best practices including cost management, performance optimisation and operational readiness

Key requirements

• Extensive experience in a technical consulting or professional services role delivering Azure solutions to small, medium, and enterprise organisations
• Hands-on SME experience designing, implementing, managing and administering Azure technologies with success in customer deployments
• Ability to gather, analyse, and translate business requirements into actionable technical designs
• Strong stakeholder engagement across technical teams and senior business leaders
• Experience managing technical delivery within defined scope, timelines and quality expectations
• Deep knowledge of Azure architecture covering networking, identity, security and governance
