Overview

As a Senior Environmental Consultant at AECOM you help improve environmental performance across major infrastructure schemes. You join a national Environmental Impact team delivering EIA inputs, environmental statements, and related documents through project lifecycles. You work with cross-functional teams to identify constraints, propose mitigations, and support business development. The role offers involvement in large-scale, innovative projects that advance net-zero and ESG goals in the UK and Ireland.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate environmental inputs to EIA screening, scoping, assessments and Environmental Statements across project lifecycles
  • Review and integrate specialist chapters to maintain high-quality deliverables
  • Manage project resources and budgets with support, developing PM skills
  • Collaborate within integrated design teams to improve environmental outcomes and identify mitigation opportunities
  • Maintain direct client contact and liaise with internal supply teams
  • Support business development and fee/technical proposal development
  • Contribute to responses for diverse consenting regimes (DCO, TCPA, TWA, hybrid Bill)

Key requirements

  • Degree in a relevant environmental discipline (Masters preferred)
  • EIA consultancy experience including coordinating environmental reports and reviewing specialist chapters
  • Developing understanding of relevant consenting regimes
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and coordinate inputs from specialist teams
  • Developing project management skills including programming and budgeting
  • Commitment to innovation and continuing professional development
  • Experience with DCO and/or TWAO regimes beneficial but not essential
  • Strong verbal and report writing skills with stakeholder engagement capability
